Archie's 'ticketing' system

Archie is the Internet-based information management system used by Cochrane Review Groups to store all versions of their reviews and manage the editorial processing of their reviews, including communicating with others involved in the editorial process (such as referees) and the tracking of the editorial process. Archie uses a special messaging system, known as 'ticketing', to let people associated with a specific review know when it is time for them to perform a particular task. The person assigned a task (in this case, you) receives an email message which specifies the name of the review, the Review Group and the task that needs to be performed. The email should also contain (in the form of attachments) any documents you need to complete your task (e.g., a PDF of the draft protocol and a refereeing form) and a requested due date.

In response, you should first complete your task 'offline'. If you have any questions about what needs to be done, please contact the sender of the email message.

Once you have completed your task, you inform the staff at your Review Group's office that you have completed your assigned task by clicking on the link at the end of your message, which will take you to a 'ticket' where you will be asked to confirm that you have completed your task. If the task involves submitting comments or feedback, you will be able to attach a file which will be sent (through Archie) to the Review Group. In the current version of the software, you can only attach one file. If you have more than one file to attach, you can zip them together in one file. Once you have attached any files that need to be included, and possibly indicated the decision taken as part of completing the task (not all tasks involve a decision), click 'Mark Task as Done' at the bottom of the ticket. Staff at your Review Group's office will be informed that you have completed your task and will have access to the file you have submitted.
